ESCORT TWIN CAM (1968-1971)

The idea for the Escort Twin Cam was born out of a desire to continue Ford’s 1960s motorsport achievements. Having enjoyed so much success with the Lotus Cortina, it stood to reason that the same 1.6-litre engine under the bonnet of the new smaller and lighter Escort would be a tantalising proposition.
