ANTARCTICA BOOST FOR SCENIC
Scenic has seen bookings to Antarctica double in the past year and has unveiled a 2023/24 programme to the region featuring fly-cruises and an Antarctic Circle crossing.
The Antarctica and South America Voyages & Land Journeys collection features a second ‘discovery yacht’, Scenic Eclipse II, which will join its sister vessel in Antarctica in December 2023.
Among the additions are fly-cruises that skip the notorious Drake Passage with a two-hour flight to King George Island, where guests embark on an 11-day Wild Antarctica: Fly the Drake voyage. Prices start at £13,450 departing December 24, 2023.
A 19-day Beyond the Antarctic Circle voyage is also new, heading to the far south to see changes in environment, sea ice and wildlife. Prices start at £15,850 on February 8, 2024.
A Super Earlybird offer saves up to 20% off the cruise fare if you book and pay for a cruise in full 12 months before departure (scenic.co.uk).
STAR CLIPPERSIN COSTA RICA
Star Clippers is marking the introduction of new destination Costa Rica with 20% off selected sailings to the central American country.
The offer is valid until April 30 and applies to sailings on December 10 and 17, 2022, and January 7, 2023, meaning prices now start from £1,251 per person for a seven-night trip. Other departures have 10% off.
There are two itineraries, with ports of call including Quepos, Isla Tortugas and San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua (starclippers.co.uk).
