A SHAKEDOWN WITH SMILES

We sat watching the sun fade towards the horizon like a melting toffee, all rusty oranges followed by fiery reds. We could be anywhere in the world. Actually, we were parked at the foot of Hay Bluff, all of 40 miles from home; not that the location particularly mattered, only that we were together as a family for our first night away in our new motorhome, a moment that sometimes felt as though it would never come.

Those who tell you that moving house is one of life’s most stressful events obviously haven’t tried doing so while simultaneously packing up to live life on the road for a year, and not before a brief spell in another house for good measure. Then throw in the need to entertain two small and lively children,
