Pride and joy

SO there I was at what has fast become my new favourite London watering hole, Upstairs at The George, a gloriously snug dining spot above a beautifully refurbished 18th-century pub in Great Portland Street. The pub itself was reassuringly raucous, while the Victorian parlour upstairs was all calm, serene, intimate elegance. A welcome glass of 2018 Busi Jacobsohn Cuvée Brut was wafted under my beak and I was instantly smitten. Not just by my surroundings but also by the fizz itself.
