Hagerty has leveraged its status as the world’s largest provider of specialty auto insurance by re-positioning itself as an enthusiast brand that seeks to “save driving” and “preserve car culture” through various membership programs (i.e., its 650,000-member Hagerty Drivers Club and Hagerty DriveShare peer-to-peer rental network). Hagerty has also purchased high-profile car events such as the Florida-staged Amelia Island Concours, the California Mille, the Detroit-area Concours d’Elegance of America and Connecticut’s Greenwich Concours.
