These oversized lures have accounted for more trophy bass catches in a shorter period of time than any other bait on the planet. Once considered a niche, regional technique, swimbaiting has proved itself effective from one end of the country to the other. Indeed, one of the biggest limits of my lifetime came on Florida’s Lake Okeechobee with a swimbait originally designed to catch calico bass in the kelp forests of the Pacific Ocean.
