I’m sure that Buses imported from the US now vastly outnumber other Buses on this fair isle of ours, and what’s not to like about not having to patch up a rotten Bus for the MoT every year? That said, imports generally need things checking over when they arrive in the UK, especially due to the lack of any vehicle inspection laws in many US states. One area where every import needs work though is in the wiring and lighting department. With US-spec front sidelights incorporated in the indicators and amber sidelights not being legal in the UK, along with the rear lights on Early Bays having a combined stop/tail and flasher function, a couple of hours needs to be spent with a crimping tool to keep on the right side of the law.
