I might play it up sometimes to wind him up, but the truth is that as one of the very first videogames I ever played on my dad’s Atari 2600, does hold a special place in my memories. With that in mind, I remember being very surprised to learn that the 2005 DS game combined mechanics from both arcade games, mostly because I hadn’t been aware that there was a second one at all. I’d been online for a good few years by that point so the knowledge was certainly out there, but nobody really talked about the game.
