It may have taken 30 long years, but Masahiro Sakurai’s lovable pink blob Kirby has finally appeared in a proper 3D adventure game – and it’s absolutely tremendous fun.

The plot is as twee and as shallow as you’d expect for a game, centring around Kirby being transported to New World, a strange post-apocalyptic planet where he quickly discovers that Waddle Dees are being kidnapped by the dangerous animals that live there. He soon meets a cute critter called Elfilin and they decide to pair up in order to rescue
