Supreme win cements show team in the record books

CHARLOTTE CAULFIELD, 16, completed a record-breaking hat-trick when Vicki Rudd’s exciting home-bred 148cm show pony, Shildons Royal Scoundrel (Hector), gave his rider – and producers Team Forster/Jinks – a third consecutive British Show Pony Society (BSPS) winter novice supreme title.

The five-year-old gelding, a full-brother to the prolific-winning Shildons Plan B – summer supreme here last year with Reise Shakespeare – is a shining example of type, according to judge Philip Hilton.

“It has great presence and I just couldn’t take my eyes off it from the moment it came in, ” Philip said. “It had beautiful movement – engaged from behind and extravagant in front – and to me is a true show pony. I predict great things.”
