    Churchill and the Middle East

    In 1921 became Colonial Secretary and was charged with two primary responsibilities: bring peace to the Middle East—and to Ireland. As will be shown in this issue and the next, he largely succeeded at reducing tensions in both regions, at least until the Second World War.
