‘Our doors opened 31 years ago, in January 1991. There was not one moment that inspired this career path, just a love for the outdoors and a passion for people and adventure that led me into establishing an outdoor store with a difference. Some of my best adventures have been hiking and biking in the Drakensberg. There’s nothing better than being out there in the rain and snow, with tents being buffeted in the wind. Or waking up in the morning to an icicle encrusted in your tent, with frozen water in your water bottle. Or travelling across Lesotho on the back of a Landy, covered in dust, and arriving to a cold ale at the highest pub in Africa long after sunset. Those memories stand out.
