When and where did your journey as an author begin?

I’ve written stories for as long as I can remember, but I began to take my writing seriously when I read a book called  by romance author Mary Wibberley, who was a successful author for Mills & Boon. I joined the Romantic Novelists’ Association as part of their New Writers’ Scheme (NWS) for unpublished authors and tried for a long while to write the perfect Mills & Boon, but I never managed to crack it. It slowly dawned on me that I write a different kind of story.
