ITH the coming of April, I turned my attention to my Border canaries’ nests. With only a couple of pairs of birds, nothing takes long to do and that was the same with the preparation of the nest-pans. I’ve adopted the carbolic-soap method of sticking nest-felts in, so after thoroughly dosing each felt with diatomaceous earth, I smothered one side in mashed-up carbolic soap and water and pushed them firmly
