resh off his Oscar-worthy performance in last year’s , Nicolas Cage stars in an offbeat comedy best described as “Meets .” Cage plays a fictional version of himself, deeply in debt, his movie career teetering on collapse. Out of nowhere he’s offered $1 million to attend the birthday party of a wealthy Spaniard — leading to a series of off-the-wall adventures that hark back to Cage’s action-movie past. It’s stupid and silly — and a fun reminder that movie stars don’t always believe their own press.
