WHERE WERE YOU IN 1977?

Being 13 in 1977 was nothing like being 13 now. For this kid, growing up in a tiny West Yorkshire village called Goose Eye, fashion and make-up were thrilling concepts glimpsed only via the pages of Jackie magazine. Mum had only just stopped making my clothes. There was no reality TV, Instagram or influencers. My main ‘influence’ was Blue Peter, which launched a competition to design a commemorative stamp for the Queen’s Jubilee. Being Queen Swot of Swotsville, of course I entered. I didn’t win, but was sent a Blue Peter badge for my efforts.
