A HEAD FULL OF COLOURS

Jean-Michel was born in New York City in 1960. His mum’s family came from the island of Puerto Rico, while his dad came from Haiti. He grew up speaking Spanish and French as well as English!

His parents saw the world in different ways. Jean-Michel’s mum loved art – she had studied fashion and decorated their home with bright colours. She encouraged Jean-Michel to be creative! His father was an accountant. He was careful and strict, but he brought his son paper, pens and pencils from the office.
