Those are the words of Brian O’Driscoll from 2005, with the Ireland legend referring to his decision to go blond in the early Noughties, his “rebellion” against rugby’s strictures. Nearly two decades on, players are still making statements with their hair, a drop of bleach almost tame in comparison to some of the styles we’ve seen in more recent seasons.
