ROYAL WINDSOR is undoubtedly the first show in the diary where showing competition is at its peak. The calibre of animals, both seasoned and novice, is exceptional, with riders using the fixture to gauge if their hopeful stars will in fact reach the heights.

In 2013 Allister Hood debuted a four-year-old riding horse who would go on to be one of the most successful show horses of modern times. The horse in question was Annabel Jenks’ bay gelding Diamonds Are Forever (Freddie) who certainly made Windsor “his” show, by scoring the novice class and the section accolade on his first appearance, and winning the overall riding horse championship three more times during his extensive career.
