ALNMOUTH TO BERWICK & CARLISLE TO BEATTOCK
Both by Roger Darsley and Dennis Lovett
HERE are two fine additions to the superb series that covers distinct geographical areas of our extensive railway system through historic monochrome images. These two volumes follow the well-established Middleton Press format.
Significant northern stretches of both the electrified East Coast and West Coast Main Lines are featured. On the East Coast, the focus is on northern Northumberland and along the scenic coastal stretch to the north of Chathill and past Holy Island to Berwick.
The West Coast volume deals with the climb through Annandale, the Southern Uplands and the fearsome gradient up to Beattock
