ONE HOT DAY in a Louisiana bayou, three big birds sat atop a large cypress tree.
“There’s nothing to do in this steamy bayou,” said Pink Bird.
“Yep—nothing to do except sit in this big, old cypress tree and hang on,” said Black Bird.
“That’s right,” said White Bird. “Another boring, boiling day in the bayou.”
“Hey, birds,” said Alligator. He’d been listening from down below, floating on the warm, swampy water. “See those three large stones over there.”
