The stranger-than-fiction story of John Darwin, the British prison officer who, in 2002, faked his own death in a kayaking mishap to fraudulently claim a life insurance payout – letting his wife, Anne, in on the plot, but not the couple’s adult sons, who believed their father had drowned. Created by Chris Lang () and based gave it five stars with particular mention of the “complete triumph” of Monica Dolan’s () portrayal of Anne Darwin.
