As a ’70s kid, did you start with minibikes?

I was about 10 or 11 and hung out with mates in the paddock behind Belmore South Primary school. We graduated from pushbikes to paddock bashers. The first bike I rode was a BSA Bantam, then those minibikes with lawnmower engines in dodgy frames with small wheels. We spent more time fixing those than riding them. We graduated to riding back lanes, stormwater canals, rubbish tips and paddocks
