Nissan Civilian Project Part 2

Once the bus was parked on my level driveway I could begin to look more closely at how I could make a flat floor. All the previous vehicles I have owned were fitted with a ‘corrugated’ steel floor and it was a fairly easy matter to make a wheel arch template, transfer that onto sheets of 12mm plywood and then cut them out and sit the panels directly onto the steel floorpan.

However, the Civilian bus has a completely different structure in that it is essentially a front cab attached to a long, very strong steel chassis – the bus sides and top are then fitted to the chassis.
