Coonamble Challenge & Campdraft

The inclement weather forecast didn’t deter the best riders and horses from attending the 2022 Coonamble Challenge and Campdraft. Competitors travelled from Queensland and across NSW vying for a scoop of more than $79,000 in cash and prizes. Featuring a Stockman’s Challenge, $50,000 Novice Campdraft plus a Colt Starting Competition. Without the support of dedicated local cattle donors and sponsors, the event would not have been possible.

It rained intermittently during the Benalla Stud Derby Challenge, but the 34 competitors battled the weather. Leah Read and ‘Southern Amego’ took the honours with 326 points overall. Leah took home a Derby Trophy Buckle, Newmarket Saddlery voucher and Embroidered Horse Rug
