MERC MOVES UP A GEAR
When Merc’s NG cab appeared in the early 1970s, it was a revelation. It went on to be hugely popular across the globe. But by the time it bowed out in the late 1990s, others had overtaken it.
Merc’s replacement was the tech heavy Actros, with a Marmitey, rather gaudy, interior! It was a good truck, but some felt it was overly complicated, overly heavy and overly expensive, which led to the launch of the Axor (HC April 2021).
