RACE CHAT First laps

The first round of the 2022 British Scooter Championship saw the BSSO as welcome guests of the North East Motorcycle Racing Club (NEMCRC) at the very fast Croft circuit near Darlington. As always the weekend was really well supported by local scooterists who saw some great track action in the sun. Although entries were a little down, the racing was great with some super-fast lap times, strong newcomers and battles throughout the field.

BSSO racing is split into two grids, the Stock classes and Super classes (Standards and Specials in old money). This race weekend consisted of a qualifying session to set the all-important starting grid, and then two races per grid on each day of the weekend. Many riders chose to race two different bikes to double their track time, while others rode their Stock bike in the Specials Class. This is
