As the cinema lights went down and the film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy began to play, Helen Bailey felt a mixture of excitement and guilt.
It was the summer of 2011 and she was on a date.
The first since her beloved husband had drowned on holiday in Barbados.
She’d met her date, Ian Stewart, then 50, through a Facebook bereavement support group.
He’d lost his own wife Diane Stewart, 47, the summer before. So he would have known Helen’s pain.
And that was a comfort to her, as she settled down
