IRISH raiders have never had it so good. They might not have beaten their record of 23 winners at the Cheltenham Festival this spring but the haul of big British races, particularly chases, that have gone back to the Emerald Isle on the ferry has been impressive.

The Betfair Chase (A Plus Tard), King George (Tornado Flyer) – two races not normally on their radar – the Champion Chase (Energumene), Gold Cup (A Plus Tard) and Grand National (Noble Yeats) have all gone back across the water.
