THE decisions have already been made that will eventually result in beavers returning to most of the UK’s rivers. Whether you think this is a triumph or a disaster doesn’t matter – they are on their way. Trial releases, escapes from enclosures and illegal dumping sites, running well into double figures, stretch from Perthshire to Cornwall, and a lot more are being planned.
