Shake up your salads with watercress

atercress is in season in the UK from April through to September, so now is a great time to buy some from the supermarket or farm shop and experiment with it. Like its relatives mustard, radish and wasabi, watercress has a distinctive, peppery flavour. It is rich in vitamin A (from beta-carotene) and vitamin C and is also a source of iron, calcium, folate and vitamin E. Watercress is also extremely high in vitamin K, which is necessary for blood clotting.
