CHANGE ALTITUDE IN STYLE

P loops cleverly reposition the plane higher or lower, depending on the version flown. A basic P loop starts out with a full-throttle vertical upline, followed by a 3/4 inside loop to return to upright level flight, albeit higher. When a half roll is added to the upline, it becomes a turnaround maneuver. Although it’s seldom seen outside of aerobatic competition, you will benefit from using this version of the P loop turnaround when your plane is low and you need to gain some altitude before the next maneuver, or when you want to increase your comfort level entering the next maneuver by gaining a bit more height. It also makes a great impression and is a blast to fly.
