ince 2016, LGBTQ+ youth charity Just Like Us has collaborated with primary schools, secondary schools and colleges from all corners of the UK. Their mission statement? To help improve the lives of queer youth. Their annual, UK-wide celebration of LGBTQ+ equality, titled School Diversity Week, sees thousands of schools take part with student talks and assemblies led by their Ambassador Programme, which trains LGBTQ+ people aged 18-25 to speak about allyship and their own personal experiences with sexuality and/or gender identity. Dominic Arnall, Chief Executive Officer at the LGBTQ+ charity, tells GAY TIMES that Just Like Us exists to let all young people know that, although growing up queer is still unacceptably tough, their identities need to be “celebrated”. “LGBTQ+ young people are twice as likely to be bullied, experience depression, have anxiety and contemplate suicide,” says Dominic,
