Rega Planar 1

t might be a reasonable assumption to think that the Rega Planar 1 would hark back to the company’s first design. But as with so many things about this UK engineering company, this history is not so predictable. Its first tables back in the 1970s were the Rega Planet in 1973 and the unnumbered original Planar in 1975, the latter a rarity since only 200 were ever produced.
