WHERE TO STAY
YOU have your caravan or motorhome, as well as all the equipment you might need, so now there’s only one thing left to do – choose somewhere to go! Doing so means thinking about what it is you want from a campsite itself, as well as the local area.
SITE FACILITIES
FACILITIES offered can vary wildly. At the most basic end of the scale are remote ‘wild camping’ sites, that offer somewhere to park your caravan or motorhome, and very little else. At most, there might be somewhere to empty the chemical toilet and a tap for drinking water.
For some, there’s an appeal to this ‘back to basics’ approach to camping, but if that’s not you, don’t worry, because most sites are much better equipped. At the very least, you should expect a clean toilet and shower block, plus facilities for doing the washing up. Laundry facilities are reasonably common, as are play areas at more familyfriendly establishments. Larger sites can be equipped with leisure facilities, such as swimming pools or golf courses.
