OH DEAR, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Murfreesboro boasts grand Victorians and a few bungalows, but our house, Rose Cottage, is something of an architectural anomaly here. We just finished renovating this Craftsman-style house.

Construction began in 1912 for the Rose family, who brought lumber and craftspeople from Arkansas to build in Tennessee. The house has both Arts & Crafts and chalet elements, with some local characteristics: for example, similar fireplace of it, all preserved unpainted—is Southern yellow pine.
