Refurbishing a cherished Ultimate Courier radiogram

The history of this radiogram goes back to 1958. Let me explain.
My wife Lorraine and I married on 1 August 1958. I was just six weeks off turning 18 while Lorraine was aged 16 years, 6 months, and 2 weeks. Our first residence as a married couple was in a front flat of an old house in Byron Street, Sydenham, Christchurch. It was an old suburb, even back then, south of the city towards the more affluent suburb of Cashmere at the foot of the Cashmere Hills.
