My conscience won’t let me keep using Kaspersky

I feel I am uniquely placed to comment on Kaspersky, having started using it before it was available in the UK. Back in the early Nineties it was only available in Europe, and all updates had to be downloaded as a file and then installed. When it did finally arrive in the UK, I immediately rang the London office to ask for a proper licence, and whether I could become a reseller. I was pleased to say that it was a ‘yes’ to both requests.

I used Kaspersky to keep my computers, and those of my friends and customers, from the 1990s to the 2010s. If I ever had a problem, I had a direct line to the help desk in the London office. This was always answered promptly and I got great service.

Then they went all ‘corporate’ and put their sales and support out to an outside company and that personal touch
