AFTER THE FLOOD

T the time of writing much of southern Queensland and northern NSW have been inundated with the worst floods in many years. Constant heavy rainfall with over 200mm per day fell throughout the region. The flooding was a monumental disaster, with many lives lost and catastrophic damage to places such as Gympie, Brisbane, Lismore and Ballina. The water is just starting to recede, but continuous heavy rain from thunderstorms has been relentless. This disaster makes going fishing seem like a rather frivolous activity, and at present it would be just about impossible to do due to a sea of brown and masses of debris.
