Finding the right paint finishes for every surface in your home can feel like a daunting task, especially when the finish can have just as much of an impact on the look of a room as the colour.

Start by considering the durability requirements of the surface that you want to paint; this will help guide you in the right direction. Next, look at samples of the finishes – as a general rule the glossier the finish the more durable it will be. ‘Matt and silk are best for walls.
