Chillblast defies the odds in this month’s Labs by including that most rarified of objects, a discrete graphics card, in a system costing £750. The GeForce GTX 1650 sits at the bottom of Nvidia’s line-up, but you only need to look at the graphs on p90 to understand how much more 3D acceleration it delivers than the integrated graphics found elsewhere.

The TL; with a 106fps average at High settings, but we had to dial down from High to Low for more recent games: this took from 52fps to 74fps, from 34fps to 98fps, and from 19fps to 65fps. It isn’t well suited to gaming at 1440p, with only producing playable frame rates (63fps).
