More like a portable monitor than a tablet, the 14.6in Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is 326mm wide, 208mm tall and a surprisingly thin 5.5mm. It feels as though it would be easy to snap in half with your bare hands, but I decided not to try. Despite those slender dimensions it’s heavy for a tablet, weighing just shy of 730g, but what do you expect from something this big?

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra comes in one only colour: what Samsung calls “graphite” and I call dull grey. Perhaps Samsung’s designers secretly agree, as they give the back a lift by coating it in glass. Two interesting things to note here are the small camera bump, which houses two lenses, and a magnetic streak that you connect
