Hey, Leaf. What’s been going on today? Did you have an appointment earlier?
Yeah, I broke my hand last weekend in a moshpit. I didn’t even know the band; I was just in Frankston at a festival called Flippin’ The Bird. We went out for the day and ended up getting pretty wasted. The moshpit was pretty intense but I kinda love that shit. I remember being pushed into the stage, and at the same time, I was swinging at the floor, then my hand collided with the stage, and I completely shattered my hand. It was pretty gnarly, but it was worth it [laughs]. It wasn’t too bad.
Did you go to the hospital straight after?
Yeah, the event finished at midnight and then I went to the hospital, but getting from Frankston to Fitzroy took two hours. I live two blocks from the hospital, so it’s pretty convenient. I got there and it was really quiet, so I was thinking, sweet, they’ll be able to get me through fast. But then they got all my details and I was sitting in the ER for an hour or two.
