We didn’t intend to buy a do-er upper until we came across this three-bedroom 1930s semi in Durham,’ says Aylsa. ‘Having outgrown our new-build house in nearby Crook, we wanted a bigger place nearer to schools for our daughters Isla and Camila. This was the last of four houses we viewed on the same day, and we totally fell in love with it.
