SEITZ PLEATED BLINDS/FLYSCREENS

If your vehicle is fitted with combination Seitz pleated blinds and flyscreens, it’s possible that at least one of them might have become stiff to operate. If left, they might eventually become so seized up, something could break.

In the first instance, try lubricating the side runners with a squirt of silicone spray, and ensure the tongues on the end of the aluminium finger-grips are seated properly in their tracks (that is, the grip doesn’t twist when you either close or open the blind).

Do not use anything like WD-40, as it must be silicone spray. If you have a can of Thetford’s Seal Lubricant, that will work.
