SILVER SLATTER Martin Slatter, of Gloucester-based Old Centralians, has been honoured for 50 years’ service to the North Gloucestershire Combination, with their end-of-season junior cup competition now carrying his name.

He has served as president, chairman and secretary of the Combination, which comprises 17 clubs at the last count. Slatter was unaware of the impending announcement, which came at Coney Hill RFC where the draw for three cup tournaments was made.
