Class 90 pays tribute to Sir William McAlpine

A JOINT project between the Bachmann Collectors Club and Locomotion Models has seen the release of a striking new ‘OO’ scale model of Class 90 electric locomotive No. 90028 Sir William McAlpine in DB Cargo red livery (pictured).

The model was officially launched at the Model Rail Scotland show and is available to purchase now. A batch of 500 models has been produced; 200 will be sound-fitted (available exclusively to members of the Bachmann Collectors Club) and 300 DCCready (available exclusively from Locomotion Models).

DB Cargo named its locomotive on January 11, 2019 at the National Railway Museum and returned to London behind the newly-named No. 90028. Both locos posed for photographs outside the museum as a tribute to Sir William, who was a lifelong railway enthusiast and sadly passed away in March 2018.
