CAN YOU GIVE US SOME BACKGROUND TO THE COMPETITION?
This was the very first held in the Maldives. Before this, we have been holding kite camps and rides across the country since 2016, riding to advertise the sport in the Maldives since it is still relatively new here. But now in 2022, we decided to actually hold a competition so that our riders will be able to – one day – participate and compete in international events as well.
HOW DID YOURI GET INVOLVED AND WHAT WAS HIS ROLE AT THE EVENT?
Youri first joined our event back in 2016, the ‘Raalhugudi Kite Fest’ where he did a kite camp in Maafushi in the South Male’ atoll, whereg Committee.
