HEN IT CAME TIME to make a college decision, Montverde Academy’s Janiah Barker narrowed her list of options to three: Ole Miss, South Carolina and Georgia. Barker, the top-ranked forward in the Class of 2022—No. 3 overall, according to ESPN—ultimately committed to Georgia, joining Coach Joni Taylor’s roster alongside her best friend Sydney Bowles, also an incoming freshman.
