I want to forgive my abusive parents before it’s too late

I’m 43 years old and father to a wonderful daughter, whom I co-parent. I live abroad but am British-born.

My parents were abusive, resulting in PTSD; I no longer have contact, refuse any overtures from them, and am happy not to be part of that toxic dynamic. I’ve done the work, given myself a shot at life, and am a pretty good parent.
